Engineers' Day was launched for the first time on 15 March 2018 by Daniel Löhr and Christian Vils with the idea of supporting the promotion of young talent and honouring the achievements of engineers. UNESCO, on the other hand, declared 4 March the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development at the end of 2019, so that at the end of June 2020 the initiators of Engineers' Day, together with the Swiss engineering associations, decided to celebrate Engineers' Day in connection with the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development from then on. This special day is now marked annually with a wide variety of events throughout Switzerland.
Because of the coronavirus situation, events such as guided tours, talks and webinars are taking place predominantly in online formats this year. So we too are presenting our Vanillaplan software in two online webinars. But what does Vanillaplan actually offer?
We have developed cloud-based software for resource planning that also offers great added value for engineers, who face many challenges. The deployment plans are intelligently linked to a capacity plan and show company utilisation up to 60 weeks in advance as well as the resource consumption of staff on each project. This supports an early planning process for everyone involved. Digital, visually appealing and intuitive, with icons and photos to move around, Vanillaplan also has something playful about it, so that younger people in particular find it easy to get started. With Vanillaplan, deployment planning - otherwise a somewhat dry business - can even be fun!
Very much in the spirit of Engineers' Day: if the idea of a day for engineers inspires you, pass it on and come and visit us!
We from the Vanillaplan team look forward to seeing you!

During our visit to the Infra Conference 2022 at the KKL Lucerne, while presenting our Vanillaplan software for deployment and capacity planning, we got to know the qualified civil engineer and co-founder of Engineers' Day, Daniel Löhr. Since our software is ideally suited not only to the construction trade but also specifically to engineering offices, he invited us to this year's Engineers' Day, where we will be able to present our tool at two webinars from 11:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 16:00.
