Smaller repairs, installations and maintenance jobs often take only a few hours. Even if these jobs do not belong to larger projects, they can be entered in Vanillaplan. To improve the clarity of capacity and deployment plans, we recommend creating an overarching project for all your short jobs.
How does it work?
First you create a phase with the name you want; in the video the phase is called «Small jobs». Next you set up a project (again with the name «Small jobs»); you do not need to enter anything for the calculated effort. You can choose the date and keep extending it afterwards.
In the capacity plan you now see the «Small jobs» project. Click the week field you want for the project and select «Switch to absolute values». When you click the week field again, you can enter the person-days required per week.
In the project view you can now drag employees and resources into the «Small jobs» project and adjust these assignments in time. To specify the job, you can add the client, location and other important information to the description.
In the next tips and tricks we show you application examples for level 0 in the capacity plan.
