In our new edition of tips and tricks we would like to show you how to create and manage temporary employees.

One of the special features of Vanillaplan is the straightforward recording of staff resources. You can also manage temporary employees very easily by ticking the temporary box when creating the resource. This means you can see directly in your planning views when employees are employed on a temporary basis.

In addition, the Resource allocation view lets you set the employee's actual period of employment. In this way, temporary staff are only displayed and included in deployment and capacity planning during their actual period of employment.

And this is how it works:

Open the Resource allocation view and, in the row for the employee concerned, drag the cursor over the relevant weeks, select the department and confirm the selection.

The Resource allocation view also has further uses. For example, employees who are leaving the company or newly joining it can be recorded in the resource allocation. To do this, the allocation can be deleted after the last working day or before the first.

We hope this tip on temporary employees and resource allocation helps you make your planning with Vanillaplan even more efficient.
