AI - Artificial intelligence

What is AI?

Artificial intelligence (AI) describes digital systems that learn independently from data, recognise patterns and make meaningful decisions or suggestions based on this - without any constant human intervention.

In project planning, AI is primarily used where a lot of information flows together and quick, well thought-out decisions are required - for example in resource planning, when personnel, projects and availabilities are constantly interacting in new ways.

The aim of using AI in construction planning

The shortage of skilled labour is becoming more acute in the construction industry: many experienced employees will soon be retiring, while there is a shortage of qualified junior staff. The result? Orders are delayed - not for technical reasons, but because there is no one to coordinate them.

This is where artificial intelligence comes in: it supports scheduling by automating routine work and relieving experienced planners. After all, scheduling not only requires experience and a sure instinct, but also a lot of repetitive work - and this is precisely what AI does. This leaves more time for what really matters.
